Recently, the island male volleyball star Joshua Retamar said it could not attend the 32nd SEA Games in May due to a concentrated schedule with the held tournament.

Joshua Retamar is a member of the Philippine Men's Volleyball squad to win the SEA Games 30 historical gold medal at home and he also participated in last year's congress in Vietnam.
Both of those SEA Games, coach Dante were the one who took the position of “captain” so when he was fired, Joshua Retamar did not feel satisfied with this decision.
Joshua Retamar said: “Of course I am sad because I know Dante really wants to win the SEA Games gold medal for the Philippine volleyball. His dream is very high but then he is wrong because it is quite unreasonable but cannot do anything else.”
Joshua Retamar believes that his coach can take on the work of leading many teams intertwined, he always works very responsibly and unfair when not letting Dante do it.
Joshua Retamar was also absent in the list of 19 athletes focusing on preparing for the upcoming SEA Games 32. He said he and Nico Almendras refused to focus this time with the national team.
