In the past few days, Vietnam has hosted the Asian Championship 2023 female volleyball tournament that has been very interested by the volleyball fan community. Asian Women's Volleyball Championship is the largest tournament of the Asian Volleyball Federation and member states. This is the tournament with the largest number of teams participating, usually from 14-16 women's volleyball teams across Asia.
All the strongest female volleyball teams in Asia such as China, Japan, Korea, Thailand … are present. Unlike the Asian Championship women's volleyball trophy, most teams bring the strongest squad to this tournament.
The Asian Women's Volleyball Championship was first held in 1975, held every 2 years. The host country is often East Asia and Southeast Asia, where the women's volleyball platform develops.
Up to this point, the Asian Women's Volleyball Championship has organized 20 times. In particular, China won 13 times, Japan won the championship 5 times and was the team that won the last two times in 2017 and 2019.
Some volleyball stars have been honored with the best athletes in the tournament, such as Zhu Ting, Onuma, Wang Yimei, Zhu Ting, Wilavan, Mayu Ishikawa …
In 20 times the tournament was held, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team attended 10 times. The last two times our team participated in 2015 and 2017, when the Vietnamese women's volleyball team was ranked 5th.
Previously, Vietnam had hosted the 2003 tournament in Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City and 2009 in Hanoi. The Chinese and Thailand women's volleyball teams are the teams winning these two tournaments.
As expected, the Asian Championship Volleyball Championship 2023 will have the participation of China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Philippines … and the host of Vietnam.
