The focus of the world volleyball village is the Volleyball Nations League 2025 (VNL 2025). VNL is the largest annual tournament of the world volleyball village.
This is the 7th season of Volleyball Nations League and in the 2025 season will witness the largest number of teams participating in the history of the tournament. In the previous seasons, only 16 teams attended each content.
This year, VNL 2025 will have a total of 36 teams attending with 18 teams in each content. Compared to the previous seasons, there are two more teams for each tournament of male and female volleyball teams.
To have this new number, last season was not relegated. BTC has added two tickets for the FIVB Challenger Cup 2024 and the team with the highest ranking on the world volleyball rankings without any attendance.
In men's content, in addition to the teams last season, VNL 2025 welcomed the Chinese and Ukrainian male volleyball team. Meanwhile, the two women's teams added to this year's tournament are Czech and Belgium.
The format of VNL 2025 volleyball season has no change compared to last season. The participating teams were divided into three weeks of the group stage before choosing the top 7 teams with the home team to attend the final round.
All matches at VNL 2025 are calculated on the world volleyball rankings, so the rankings will have a big change after the tournament ends. The defending champion of male content is France and the content of female is Italy.
