Assistant coach of Japanese women's volleyball – Taka Minowa recently accepted to be the coach for the NXLED Club in the Philippine Premier League professional volleyball tournament.
Sharing the decision to work in the homeland of his wife – the No. 1 star of Philippine women's volleyball Jaja Santiago, Taka said he wanted to experience work as well as learn the culture in his wife's hometown.

He also wants to learn how the Philippine Volleyball players practice and compete. Along with that is bringing your volleyball knowledge to the students here.
The Japanese volleyball expert also wanted to contribute to the development of the Philippine volleyball after seeing the potential of her wife and the way she showed when playing in Japan.
Taka Minowa shared: “I believe the Philippine volleyball can reach the top 4 strongest teams in Asia. They have the same potential as Jaja Santiago, she is taller than the Thai athletes. I also like to play their decisive football.”
Currently, the top 4 Asian women's volleyballs include China, Japan, Thailand and Vietnam. In this year's tournament, Vietnamese women's volleyball teams have surpassed Korea, Kazakhstan, North Korea … to excellently on the top 4 continents.
When the level of three “great sisters” China, Japan and Thailand is too different, the top 4 is to surpass Vietnam. However, the Philippine women's volleyball has not been able to reach the top 8 Asia.
Taka Minowa is 34 years old, he married the Jaja Santiago volleyball star after many years of acquaintance in Japan. He was the second foreign coach working in the Philippines after Jorge Souza de Brito.
