Recently, the Thai Football Federation has adjusted the plan to send the national teams to participate in the Asian Women's Volleyball Cup – AVC Cup 2022 held in the Philippines in late August.
According to Somphon Chaibangyang, Chairman of the Thai Labor Federation, the national team will compete in the upcoming tournament instead of the 2nd team as some original.
Before the 2022 World Championship volleyball tournament, Thai women's volleyball will participate in two tournaments including AVC Cup 2022 and ASEAN Grand Prix 2022 held in August and September.
At ASEAN Grand Prix's AVC Cup and the first week, Thailand will send the strongest squad that has just participated in the Volleyball Nations League 2022 with two different goals.
At the AVC Cup, the Thai team aims to win the championship and at the regional friendly tournament is the tournament to grateful and thank the audience. This year, Japan and China did not send a strong team to AVC Cup, so Thailand was the brightest candidate.
AVC Cup 2022 will take place from August 21-29 in the Philippines, Thailand in the same table with Japan, Kazakhstan, Taipei China and Australia. The first match of Thailand will be the encounter with Japan.
Meanwhile, ASEAN Grand Prix will have 4 teams including Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines. The World Championship World Championship 2022 will take place from September 23 to October 15 in Poland and the Netherlands.
