The historic milestone with the Vietnamese women's volleyball team came thanks to the achievement in the semi -finals of the Asian Championship Volleyball Championship 2023. This is also the first time in the history of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team in the top 4 continents.
Vietnam's attendance is due to the fact that Thailand becomes the host country of the tournament. Therefore, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is tried to replace in the top 3 continents to win tickets to the world tournament.
On the world women's volleyball rankings, Vietnam women's volleyball team is ranked 33 with 112.73 points. This is the second lowest position out of 32 teams participating in this tournament.
