Sergio Santos was born on October 15, 1975 in Diamante by Norte, Brazil where England started a volleyball career in 1992 in the Palmeiras club shirt. He started playing the national team in 2001.

Right in the first time on the national team, Sergio Santos and his teammates won three championships in the World Championship, South American Championship and the American Cup. The British first Olympic gold medal in 2004 in Athens.
