Saori Kimura retired after the end of the Rio Olympics and became a milk tea shop owner. Sometimes she still appears with many different roles at volleyball tournaments held in Japan.

Referring to Japanese women's volleyball, Saori Kimura is the most famous and popular name. She is one of the most popular international volleyball athletes in Vietnam and many Asian countries.
Saori Kimura was born in 1986 in Saitama town, Japan. She played a professional volleyball from 16 years old for the Mogilev team of Karuizama University (2002-2005) and then joined the Toray Arrows team.
The first time Saori Kimura was recruited at the age of 17, she was one of the rare athletes attending 4 consecutive Olympic Games including: Athen 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016.
She is the one who brought Japanese volleyball to the success of the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Saori Kimura is also voted on the hero list of world volleyball. She is considered to be a comprehensive athlete in all aspects and possesses a lovely beauty that vibrates people's hearts.
