Used to be the pride of Asian volleyball but the Iranian team went downhill without braking after breaking up with a veteran a series of athletes. Most recently, this team was unable to win tickets to the Paris Olympic Games 2024 after the qualifying round.
In the Paris 2024 Olympic Men's Volleyball qualifying round, the Iranian volleyball team has disappointed results. This team lost 6/7 matches and the only victory was against Qatar to avoid the table.

It can be said that this is the disappointing result of the Asian No. 2 male volleyball team. Not only did not have a ticket from the qualifying round, this team also dropped dramatically on the world volleyball rankings.
Iranian volleyball team is currently ranked 15th in the world with 207.82 points. The Paris 2024 Olympic Games still have 5 tickets including 1 position for the No. 1 African team.
Therefore, there will be only 4 tickets based on the ranking rankings. There are teams that are ranked on Iran, including Italy (ranked 3 – 342, 43 points), Argentina (rank 6 – 314, 35 points), Slovenia (class 7 – 307, 12 points), Serbia (class 9 – 253, 22 points), Cuba (class 11 – 236, 96 points), Netherlands (class 13 – 21 14, 58 points) and Türkiye (rank 14 – 210, 73 points).
Looking at the current reality, only the 2024 Volleyball Nations League can help the Iranian male volleyball to get a ticket to the Paris Olympic Games. The distance with the last ranking team to win tickets is Serbia just over 40 points but that is not simple.
In order to raise hope, some rumors said the Asian team would call their famous veterans, Saeid Marouf and Amir Ghafour. Along with that, the Iranian Football Federation is also looking for a new coach after Mr. Behrouz Ataei resigned.
