Consecutive defeat against Vietnam, Korean women's volleyball looks for 'rescue'

The volleyball season of countries around the world is preparing to start and the teams also gradually announce the focused list. Meanwhile, Korean women's volleyball also publicly identifies its new captain.

After a tragedy of 2023 in the Volleyball Nations League as well as two bitter defeats before the Vietnamese women's volleyball team in ASIAD 19 and the Asian Championship, South Korea replaced the coach.

The new captain of the Korean women's volleyball team from Puerto Rico, 42 years old this year. He will lead this team in the first international tournament, Volleyball Nations League 2024.

Fernando Morales has been a Puerto Rico women's volleyball team coach from 2020 to the present. He once brought his team to 16th in the world, this is the highest position in this team ever done.

Under the guidance of the young coach, the Puerto Rico women's volleyball team won the US Lien 2023 medal as well as the FIVB Challenger Cup 2022, ranked 15th at the 2022 World Championship when it first entered the second round of the tournament.

Currently, the Korean women's volleyball team has dropped to the 40th class, arranged right below the teachers and coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet. With the guidance of Fernando Morales, the kimchi team hopes to regain the fourth place in the continent from the Vietnamese women's volleyball team.
