Volleyball Nations League 2023 ended with the championship of the Polish host. The United States continues to become a runner -up when losing in the final while recruiting Japanese volleyball to create a history for itself when winning the prestigious bronze medal.
In addition to the collective titles, BTC Volleyball Nations League 2023 also awarded individual prizes. Not too surprising when the Polish championship captured most of the title.
Poland has 4 titles: MVP, Best Owner, Best Pass, Best Father and Best Libero. The United States has 2 prizes for the second and the assistant while Yuki Ishikawa became the best owner.
While other tournaments are not controversial, the BTC awarded the Best Libero and MVP to Libero Zatorski of Poland made both this athletes and FIVB receive countless criticisms.
In this year's final, Zatorski's performance was evaluated far from Libero of Japan and the United States. Many people believe that giving the best Libero title has been a favor to the Polish host but giving MVP to him is too much.
Many people believe that this is a gratitude of this organizers for Libero when he became the first Libero to win the title of MVP Volleyball Nations League, a reward for 14 years of dedication to the national team.
Zatorski has been in Poland's national team since 2009, and the team won two world championships 2014 and 2018. He was awarded the Best Libero Prize in the World Championship at home and at the 2015 World League FIVB, VNL's predecessor tournament.
