The remaining names will be determined after Volleyball Nations League 2024 in which, almost certainly a team from Africa and Asia will have tickets if these two continents cannot win tickets directly on the rankings.

At the Paris Olympic Games 2024, for the first time the World Volleyball Federation and the International Olympic Committee allowed the implementation of the Law on registration of a reserve athlete outside the list of 12 official people.

Thus, each volleyball team coming to the Paris Olympic Games 2024 will have 13 athletes, in case a player officially injured they will be replaced by the reserve athletes and not to return to the tournament.

This 13th athletes, although they can practice and attend matches with the team, will not be in the Olympic Games unless the National Olympic Committee of the National Olympic Committee pays additional fees.

In previous Olympic Games, only 12 athletes were registered instead of 14 athletes like other major tournaments. Therefore, the calculation of athlete registration is always a difficult problem and causes a lot of controversy.
