The Japanese men's volleyball team has just become the first team to announce the focused list for international tournaments in 2024, especially the Paris Olympic Games.
Accordingly, the coach of the South Japan national team Philippe Blain has announced a list of 32 players, including 3 players who were first summoned.
The list of these athletes will focus on the two biggest tournaments of the year, the Paris Olympic Games 2024 and Volleyball Nations League 2024, in addition to the Asian South Asian Volleyball Cup.
Of the 32 names summoned, 17 athletes have participated in VNL 2023 where the Asia No. 1 Men's Volleyball team won the historic bronze medal as well as the Paris Olympic qualifying round.
The Japanese men's volleyball team will start focusing from April 10 at the National Training Center in Tokyo. Some stars like captain Yuki Ishikawa, Ran Takahashi, Kento Miyua can focus late because of playing abroad.
The Japanese men's volleyball team will have the first match in VNL 2024 with Argentina on May 21 in Brazil. At week 1 of the tournament, Japan will face Serbia, Cuba and Italy.
