The Philippine National Women's Volleyball Recruitment is considered the opponent of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team at the SEA Games when they have a fairly methodical investment over the past few years. Since the 30th SEA Games, the Philippine women's volleyball has a strong development when many athletes go abroad to play and the team is led by prestigious coach.
Brazilian coach Jorge Edson Souza De Brito became the captain of the Philippines women's volleyball team. When he was a player, he won the Olympic Gold Medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

Before leaving the training, General Secretary of the Philippine National Volleyball Federation Don Caringal sent greetings to the team: “We wish you all good luck in Brazil.” Besides, members of PNVF Executive Board; Leader Tony Boy Liao; Technical Director Fe Moran made the final notice for the players before they started to train Brazil.
The newly added athletes such as Alyssa Valdez, Jema Galanza and Ces Molina were on the same team. Earlier, Kat Tolentino and Mylene Paat, Kyle Negrito, Deanna Wong and Iris Tolenada, Ria Meneses, MaJoy Baron, Dell Palomata and Abby MaraƱo, and Liberos Dawn Macandili and Kath Arado also participated in the team composition.
Particularly, Jaja Santiago, who is currently in Japan, plays for Ageo Mendics, will come straight to Brazil because she has just ended the last matches at the Japanese volleyball volleyball tournament with the host team.

In Brazil, the Philippine women's volleyball team was trained in Barueri near Sao Paolo until April 27, then the whole team returned to the Philippines and moved to Vietnam in early May to prepare for their matches in Quang Ninh. Coach Jorge Edson Souza de Brito scheduled to play with the Superliga A club, Sao Caetano for the first match before the schedule of additional 4-5 other matches.
Members of PNVF Ricky Palou Executive Board, and Deputy Secretary General in charge of international issues said: “We hope the athletes will earn a lot with the training course they will receive in Brazil. I want the national women's volleyball team to become competitors with big teams at the international tournament such as the upcoming Southeast Asian Games.”
The training plan of the Philippine women's volleyball in Brazil was supported by the Sports Committee, Olympic Committee, Rebisco, PLDT and Taguig City. Chief coach Jorge Edson Souza de Brito said: “We have to improve in all positions and develop ways to make the athletes play effectively together on this Brazilian training.”
