The captain of the Philippine women's volleyball team, also a close friend of the owner Tran Thi Thanh Thuy – Alyssa Valdez recently shared that he wanted to devote more to the national team after not having many opportunities to play at SEA Games 32.
Once again the Philippine volleyball was empty-handed at the SEA Games after losing 1-3 against Indonesia in the bronze match. A unfortunate failure when this team plays on par with his opponent.
Sharing with the press after closing the 32nd SEA Games women's volleyball, Valdez said: “I really want to contribute more to the team in the future.”
Valdez encountered a knee injury in the domestic league right before the 32nd SEA Games and had just returned before the volleyball started a short time. Even so, she was still chosen to be the captain of the team.
At the 32nd SEA Games, Valdez mainly sitting on the bench and many people were dissatisfied with Brito's decision, the Brazilian coach. However, Valdez said she understood her teacher.
Valdez shared: “No matter what role the coach assigns me, I really have to believe him, it is Brito's strategy and plan because we are a team. We are playing for our country and him too.”
Thanh Thuy's best friend also said that she was about to have her best form and hope to be able to play soon with 100% of what she had. She also hopes to contribute more to the national team.
Valdez and Thanh Thuy are the former teammates of each other when competing in Attack Line (Taipei China).
